In their rules the Manflayers all have Dark Venom on their weapons. However in the current Dark Elves book Dark Venom can only be used in challenges, which means it can only be used by Manhide himself, and even then its wasted on his handbow.
So how should I go about using the Manflayers? Or should I just drop them from the list?
I use them with having poisoned weapons , for both bows and great weapons but without the armor piercing rule for their hand x-bows. This was they opperate under the old rules for them.
The other option is to use them with the armor piercing on the x-bows but without poison.
This way you are using one rule set or the other and not combining the two together.
Not sure how poison works in 8th edition though. I will look into it.
I can't remember if Repeater Xbows are in the rulebook or not. So maybe they'll get a boost, maybe not.
Dark Venom technically just does nothing nowdays. It's a pity, but that's the price we pay for out of date rules.
I haven't got a Dark Elves armybook, so I've always figured it mean Poisoned Weapons or the like...
Mmm... Thanks guys, this has cleared it up for me. I think I might just count it as Poisoned attacks for now, use them in a few larger games and see how that goes.
