Thanks to Bilbobaggins, I was reading the Warhammer Araby book. They have some wonderful histories and some amazing units--especially their cavalry, which includes war-elephants and camels! I also think their Sandwraiths are really cool!

The only thing I don't like about their book is the "Religious Hatred" against the Bretonnians and Empire--especially if it includes Tileans! I can understand it, because of the "Crusades" against them, in the past. But, would we be able to use any of their units, or vice versa, or would we have to field a whole army from Araby?

I know we have some Dogs of War units from there, but would others also be compatible or not?

If the Dogs of War ever disappear from GW tournaments, I think the Araby armies would be a good alternative--unless they, too, were made to disappear. They have a rich culture and "history." It would be a shame for them to vanish from the scene.
Well, since I wrote the book, I can say this: they do NOT hate Tileans, since they are clearly not Bretonnians or Empire Wink

But how would Araby disappear? It's just a fan-made book, it was never part of the tournament scene to begin with.

So, which of their units do you think would be willing to join a Dogs of War army?
Well, the Desert Riders and Corsairs probably, since they are both mentioned being mercs in the Dogs of War pdf Wink

But then you already have the light cavalry and duellist with the same stats and equipment, so you might as well use the official rules and use convert models that look Arabyan, that way you can always use them.

You make some good points! I was trying to get a Light Cavalry with Araby Steeds' Movement of 9 inches! That way, they would be on the enemy's missile troops by Turn 2 and would be too close for his stand-and-shoot option! They could also block line-of-sight to a slower Heavy Cavalry unit following it. The Fast Cavalry would probably take some hits, but it would only take them on Turn 1, and then they and the Heavy Cavalry would be on top of them!

However, I seem to be having trouble in acquiring steeds with 9 inch Movement. We do have a few flyers available, but they are expensive, so you can't hire many, and if they get killed, your army really feels the loss!

So, I will probably be forced to rely on my Movement 8 LC, unless someone can think of an alternative.
