Greetings, everyone! I am not an artist, by any means, but a thought came to me today, while I was looking at Empire models of Griffons. This may already have been done, but I thought I'd mention it, to see your responses.
Most sculptures of any size need to maintain their center of gravity, so a large animal rearing up normally keeps at least 2 feet on the ground, for stability. But, I was wondering if you could fashion a sculpture--say, a small model--with only one foot on the ground and support the weight of the rest of the sculpture with clear plastic (glasslike) material. This material could either be in the form of small squares, rectangular boxes, etc., that would be stacked beneath the sculpture. Or, it could be clear material that was actually molded (conformed) to the shape required to support the sculpture.
Again, please forgive my ignorance, but I thought this might be a good idea, if it is not already being done. (I had not seen its being done in Warhammer modeling, yet.)
All comments will be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you!
