3. News/Rumors : Black Library News and 8th Edition WHFB Rumors
4. Feature : Overview of the new Beastmen Army Book

This episode sponsored by Tales of Battle and individually by Tim Elrod who asks for a High Elf Army Review. We'll get to work trying to get one of those setup too for you Tim. Into the line you go. We have a single user comment this week, so sad.... LOL! Whadda ya do; slow week I guess. News/Rumors sees us talking about a number of things coming up in the future of Black Library and a very long and ample discussion of some 8th edition WHFB rumors that are making the run around.

Getting into the feature segment of the show we discuss what we take away from seeing the Beastmen Army Book. By no means is this a 100% complete review; but I feel that I hit most of the high points and did a fairly comprehensive cut of the units. Maybe I'm wrong; but that's for you the listeners to judge. Hope you all enjoy!

3. News/Rumors : Skipped
4. Feature : Adepticon Talk and Wrap-up

This episode is sponsored by Tales of Battle and individually by Jamie Searie who just wants to say that he appreciates a number of our previous episodes and wanted to sponsor a future episode. We appreciate it! For user feedback and news/rumors segments we skip them for this episode. We really wanted to get the show done and put out as soon after Adepticon as we could that way we could keep the rest of the shows on schedule. Sorry for those of you that listen for that stuff.

We basically break the episode down and discuss our games from both The Generals Challenge Tournament on Saturday and then the Adepticon Fantasy Team Tournament on Sunday. We also discuss other aspects of the convention such as Vendor Hall, Swag and such on. Hope everyone enjoy it. I've posted some pictures below and on my FlickR gallery from the convention; not too many as my camera batteries died and it just wasn't something I planned for. Oops!

Episode 38 : Man 'O War

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Keith Teklits
2. Listener E-mail/Comments : Abolished
3. News/Rumors : Contest Winners, Garagehammer, Sea of Blood Contents
4. Feature : Man 'O War!

Show begins with talk of our weeks as per usual. A few 8th Edition games Chuck's direction while mostly nothing mine. Very busy as of late with family and other things. We move quickly through this to email/comments which we point out is being eliminated for a while, so that we can muster our knowledge of 8th so we don't answer too many questions incorrectly. Finally we hit some news/rumors; first we announce the winners from our multiple contests, then quickly drop a word about a new WHFB podcast out there and finally round it up with discussion of the contents of Sea of Blood! from a link on the Bell of Lost Souls.

Our feature segment sees us visiting a classic game from the GW line-up: Man 'O War! For those unfamiliar with it as I was also up until about 5 months ago when I procured a copy, think of Battleflet Gothic for 40K, only with sail boats and Fantasy races. Chuck and I play a game and then give a quick rundown of the basic rules, how things work and what we thought of it. Just something we thought would make for a nice change of pace while 7th edition was dying down before the big gear up for 8th!

Episode 40 : 'Ard Ramblings...

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Gryfalia's Aerie, Christian Taylor
2. News/Rumors : Isle of Blood, Tale of Two Gamers, BRB FAQ, AB 3.3 Update
3. Feature : 'Ard Boy'z Thoughts on Dwarfs, VC, and some rambling...

This Episode has a couple things changed. One we've attempted to bring Chucks loud voice down into level with my own. I know, two years; I guess we could finally work on that issue huh. We go over our weeks in the hobby, mostly gaming 8th edition and looking at new lists. We discuss the Isle of Blood Contents and what we think of the models; the Tale of Two Gamers blog on the GW; the BRB FAQ that GW released just last week and finally Lone Wolf's announcement of the Army Builder 3.3 Patch.

For our main topic we start out discussing what we feel 'Ard Boy'z will be like with 8th edition and what we think we'll see at the tournaments. This leads to us discussing what we plan on fielding and how we plan on countering things and very quickly falls apart to our rambling about our armies and the way we think they are or are not effective in 8th edition. Hopefully some people will find something interesting here.

Episode 41 : An Episode of Infamy

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Gryfalia's Aerie, Miel Vermeulen
2. News/Rumors : Demons, Island of Blood, WH Starter Paint Set, O&G Rumors, New High Elf Boxes, Black Library Novels, 8th Edition Army Builder Files
3. Feature : The Wives of Infamy

This Episode is brought to you by our regular Sponsors: Tales of Battle and Gryfalia's Aerie; and singularly by Miel Vermeulen who wanted to shout out that Wisconson is going to beat Illinois this year in the IL. Vs. WI yearly challenge! We discuss a fair amount of news and a little bit of rumor. The last of the Demons preparing to release, and the Island of Blood Pre-Order! The re-release of the WH Starter Paint set, and finally finish this section off with some rumors of O&G incoming and 2nd wave High Elf plastics. Lastly a couple novels from Black Library and the realization that the 8th Edition Army Builder files are finally up for download.

For our feature segment we bring on some guests who we never expected to convince to be on the show. The infamous wives! Sadly, balancing 4 microphones is difficult so the voices kind of go in and out a lot. Particularly mine since I have headphones on I can't tell how loud my own voice is. This time, it was kind of light. Still... We thought that we would really break up the usual show with some discussion topics that may not apply to the game in general but more with how on earth those of us with wifes/girlfriends/significant others manage to get hobby and gaming in and what our wives think of it. We answer a lot of questions that were submitted just by users so this is all things that you listeners wanted to ask them. We appreciate the questions that you sent in and you should send some supportive e-mail for the wives to let them know that you enjoyed listening to them.

Definitely worth checking out if your in Arizona. Were joined this Episode by Chucks friend Jacob Something from Bloomington as they just finished a couple of games before recording and he figured he'd sit in and thought its always good to have a new voice now and then.

We discuss our weeks and then move on to our usual news/rumors which we talk about a lot of stuff that Games Workshop is rolling out towards the end of November or early next year. Lots of good stuff. We then kick over to our main topic where we discuss the personal dangers and safety when using our hobby tools. I know plenty of other shows have done it, but I figured since we never have and I nearly put my eye out recently it would be worth talking about.

First off, apologies for the late show. We recorded it twice, the first time recording difficulties and a poor show topic made me choose not to put it out. So while this is a week late you can expect our episode #48 to be out on it's regularly scheduled date so next Monday. We jump into the show with our sponsor's and a personal sponsorship by Jamie Searle who asks you to visit and support MOVEMBER! You can look him up and support him financially in raising money for cancer research. We go over Chucks last tournament games and I discuss a couple of practice games I got in for an upcoming 1250 tournament.

We hit up news and rumors with a mention of the O&G pushback, the White Dwarf subscription model; we then hit up the GW Christmas givewaway, a quick chat about the two tower terrain pieces they've released and finally end out on the Cool Mini or Not/Adepticon painting contests and check out the new Avatars of War Dwarf Berserker news! For our feature segment we find ourselves discussing the 1250 tournament that Chuck will have run by the time this show is out and why we chose to do some certain things such as low points, which scenario's, etc...

Episode 48 : 1250...

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Gryfalia's Aerie, Capital City Games and Dan Nixon
2. News/Rumors : GW F.A.Q.'s
3. Feature : 1250...

As per the usual we start off the show by thanking our numerous sponsors. Singularly this time was a sponsorship from Dan Nixon as a personal thank you for the contest in which he won the 8th Edition BRB. We cover what we've been doing which hasn't been a ton before getting to news which is also very slim this week. Considering it's only been a week since our last show I wonder how some other podcasts manage to put out a weekly show.

Our feature segment see's us discussing much more about the small 1250 tournament Chuck ran over the last weekend. We talk about games, thoughts from the players and how we feel it went overall. It isn't a terribly exciting episode; but it's to be expected. How much can somebody really accomplish in 1 week.

Episode 49 : Our Changing Armies...

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Gryfalia's Aerie, Capital City Games and John Walton
2. News/Rumors : Operation Homefront, Gamesday LE Figure, Gui Le Gros, Blazing Sun Upgrades
3. Feature : Our Changing Armies...

We start #49 by of course thanking our sponsors and discussing our weeks; which haven't involved a lot. Chucks painted some, and I've conintued painting as well as cleaned up the main site blog a little bit. I've also updated our Zazzle Store so if your interested in both supporting the show and getting some gear check that out and buy something as we get 10% of what you spend at the store back to us.

We take the later half of the show discussing a charity that Chuck is working with and new models by GW. The Gamesday LE Skaven Warlock Engineer, Gui Le Gros and the Blazing Sun Knights upgrade kits. We then take some time for our feature to discuss the was that our primary armies we've been playing in 8th edition have changed from the way they operated in 7th. This is a discussion on Dwarfs and Brettonians so if your interested in our views on those definitely give it a listen.

Episode 50 : Halfway to 100 Baby!

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Tales of Battle, Gryfalia's Aerie, Capital City Games and singularly by Brad Schwandt and Jeff Creaser
2. Battle Report : Joe & Chuck 2k Dwarfs VS. Bretonnians
3. News/Rumors : Mantic Chaos Dwarfs, Skaven 2nd Wave, 2011 Midwest Tournaments, Episode #50 Contest
4. 10 Minute Terrain : Sloped Hill
5. Feature : Interviews, Year End Wrap-up and 2011 Prospectus

For our big #50 we start out with two great individual sponsors who are plugging tournaments and game leagues that they are getting going in their respective areas. We move through what we've been doing and thankfully Chuck has actually been playing Warhammer while I've been shooting videos and recording interviews because otherwise this would've been a very short and boring segment. We do want to direct you to the Youtube Battle Report that Chuck and I made for our 1st attempt at such future endeavors and urge you all to give it a watch. We get into the news afterwards which is all pretty widely known already, but it goes through Mantic's Chaos Dwarf release and the 2nd Wave of Games Workshop's Skaven range. We also list off most of the well known Midwest GT' tournaments for a couple of listeners who'd asked specifically for them.

We direct you below for the re-introduction of '10 Minute Terrain' where I go over a quick look at creating sloped hills and how I go about it. Hopefully you can all gleam something useful from it. It was little hurried as it’s been a while since I've done one and I wasn't sure how fast I was going while working on it. Our feature segment is a number of interviews conducted with our peers and fellow podcasters that we thought would provide interesting views 6 months after 8th's release. While this may not have been entirely any amazing information we thought it would provide some interesting listening for you all. We also discuss our thoughts of our year in 2010 and what were looking forward to doing in 2011 as well as announcing our #50 contest. So go in and check it all out!

Episode 53 : Adepticon Interview

Show notes:

1. Sponsorship : Gryfalia's Aerie, Capital City Games and singularly by Chris Leapley
2. News/Rumors : O&G , Tomb Kings Announced, Warhammer Forge, Contest Winner
3. Feature : Adepticon Interview with Alex Gonzalez

We being the show as always with our 'What's been up segment' where we discuss signing up for Adepticon and what the plans are for that. We also squeeze in just a bit about the little painting contest on our forums that we've been doing for a couple weeks now. For our News/Rumors we discuss the new O&G Army Book which is currently in stores via the GW Black Boxes and the new models that accompanied it. We discuss the fact that Tomb Kings has been witnissed on the horzion and voice our hopes for more frequent army books and speculation as such and finally end with just a touch on Warhammer Forge.

Our main feature has me conducting a telephone interview with Alex Gonzalez the new man in charge of the Warhammer Fantasy events at Adepticon! We discuss which tournaments/events are being held, some insight as to why they chose certain points level's/formats and what can be roughly expected of scenario's. We also discuss a little O&G together since Alex is a long time avid Goblin player and what he thinks of the new book.
