Finished my captasus









The base is to bright (Bloodstone and Dark Flesh aren't the same colours).Don't know what to put on it. Maybe a dead guy or some equipment like shields or something. Also I have bad experience with painting over white so I will use decals on the barding, but I haven't decided which ones yet.

I'm liking the colors. Mercenaries (well the really good ones) can afford the colorful cloth and armor.

that reminds me...does anyone have an extra ice queen lying bout, always wanted to paint that chick.

I was tempted to get her when I saw her in the store but didn't. I haven't seen the model in a few years.

Lord Marcus and Bilbo- I might have an extra one....I know that they are only like $10 if you REally want on, I saw one on ebay...

Kislev doesnt really fit into the "mercenaries of the west"? but...I still like all the pics....
And I REALLY like that someone is making some Estalian models, Ive never seen any except for pizarros..

Yep, the pictures overshadowed the text.

New project. Ungol horse archers just after stripping. Any ideas for the paint scheme?

My test Ungol archer. Poor quality pics due to worse editing sofware, ( My PC is messed up, but when it will be fix , the quality will return to the previous level)

Can you post youre ingedients on the skin and the leather of the horses gear?

I really like the skin of this Horsearcher, looks like he has been riding without bodygear for a longer period. I personally make the gear of my horses black, least troubles with it, but this looks very good, so I am curious.

Well I don't have a recipe for the skin. It was something like this: black primer -> P3 Bloodstone -> Mix of Bloodstone and P3 Midlund flesh (70/30) -> the same (50/50) -> Midlund flesh -> something between a wash and a glaze of Bloodstone ( The last step was made as an experiment to make blends between the skin. )

The horse gear was Citadel desert yellow -> P3 Menoth white base ( equivalent of bleached bone )

P3 bloodstone an P3 midlund flesh are colours from what firm? If I know, I only have to find out the Citadel variants....

From what I know its water with a little bit of paint. You put it on the surface not the recess of the model (like washing). If you put few layers of glazes it will create smooth blends between the colors.
