I'm fresh on this forum....finnaly found some time to start painting Bearmen. I have 12 original models without the CG and 8 metal chaos marauders with CG.. together they form a block of 20 with CG. It's still VIP!







Tell me if u dont like the backgroud or the pics are too big. Cheers!

the background is fine, (gives a bit of that wild feel that the bearmen are all about) but the pics could be a bit smaller. over all nice models.

It's cool to see some close up pictures of singular bearmen models. I'm gonna be converting my own, and like to stay as true as I can to the original models (So would be sculpting chainmail, bear paw on shields, etc).

Models look quite good, can't wait to see more of the unit.

These bearmen waited really long for their 5 minutes( like the rest of their brothers in arms....something like 3k pts, lol), in fact many years omg.
But that was also good, coz meanwhile washes appeared on the market and now the painting is pure joy...a drop of wash and they look alive( or so I like to imagine).

Anyway, the concept is to paint each one of them unique, different helmets, armour, fur and even different tattoes on their skin, so they look like a band of individuals, which merecenaries really are, aren't they?
So here's a group of 3 identical models, painted unique. It's VIP mind you, and next pics will show( hopefully) finished models. and for the cherry on top I plan to convert Beorg( which saddly I don't have the orig. model) from a metal bear figurine. This will be the 13th warrior ( from the bunch of orig.models) in the horde....(get it?the movie)

Looks great. I like the combination of old marauders and bearmen; it adds a lot more variety to the unit.

Thx folks, for the comments....as for the shape shifter i.e. Beorg - he has permanently turned into a werebear, good for him!

the unit is almost finished, at the last moment I remembered and checked the pics in the codeex and realized all models have their fingernails painted, lol. So I did the nails as well - Paris Hilton style, i guess. Even in the heat of a battle bearmen never forget to take care of their fingernails - they simply need to look great.

sneak peak at the standard bearer. As u can see they lost their bear banner and are currently in the service of another chaos tribe.

Actually there are 20 bearmen in the unit. The grouup photo was too crapy to bother. So i had to split the group in 2 pics. Here's second group. I still need to figure out how to make good group photos.

Next more details and Beorg ( not finished though).

thx guys. Yes, bearmen are now being hired by a growing chaos horde, of which i hope i can manage to put some pics on the forum in the near future, and can be played as a ROR, in which case i just need to add Beorg, or as a regular marauder band with eq: flails, hand weapons and shields.

In the same horde another RoR is being deployed, and that is Golfag's mercenary ogres, but that one will get it's 5 minutes somewhat later.

Here are some more group pics ( very bad quality, since i have only 2M pix on my digit) and just one detail pic since I already varnished them an now are totally un-fotogenic, they glow like a fricking jellyfish.









And for a finale a wannabe Beorg mini. It's a werebear from mageknight minis. It will be converted of course, but not just very soon, coz I got busy with Ricco and his guys. I'll start a nnew tread with them. See u there!

DariusZero, I like te last one too much. What is that as I don't know. But I can say that its looking in angry and you have make that type expression that it looks that it is really angry with someone.
