This is a list that I have been playing around with. Mostly it is just a way for me to put my favorite units on the table and have fun. Thoughts? Suggestions? Major holes of the tactical nature?

Lords
Lucrezzia Belladonna 380pts

Heroes
Mydas the Mean w/10 extra bodyguards 430pts
Truthsayer 265pts
Lucrezzia Belladonna

Core
25 Ricco’s Republican Guard 360pts
10 Braganza’s Besiegers 185pts
10 Duelists w/pistols 90pts
10 Duelists w/pistols 90pts
5 Voland’s Venators 195pts

Special
Mydas the Mean
8 Lumpin Croop’s Fighting Cocks 104pts

Rare
Truthsayer
5 Birdmen of Catrazza 150pts

Un Total: 2249pts

The environment I play in is very low key, most of us play for fun and like fluff and just taking the more "useless" models for the hell of it.
If you're casual, then you have more slack.

IMO, you only have a few truly "bad" units:
- Bodyguard (Dwarves are better)
- Birdmen (Light Cav is better)
- Besiegers (Dwarves or basic X bows are better)

Conclusion?

Avoid units starting with Bs.

Noted, the main reason I take birdmen is because fluff = great, but in game = terrible, and I so desperately try to make them useful but they just are not very good.
Yeah, this list really depends on what you're up against. If it's tough competition, you probably can't afford to take more than 1 of them and still have a strong shot at winning. OTOH, if you're casual, and don't need to win, just to play, then it's OK, and you can still have fun with it.
Remember that Mydas's bodyguard are S4 basic and have magical attacks so while they aren't as resiliant as dwarves they're way better than the standard bodyguard in combat.
