Nothing much to report - just cut down my regular 2250 list vs demons which I knew would not be very effective - the damn ward saves are really a pain to get through - they should be negated by magic like in previous editions. It makes it really difficult for non-top-tier armies to compete depending on what type of army you're facing. 8 power dice and a bound item at that points value is also quite a handful to deal with.

One bright spot was a crossbow unit wiping out furies in combat .... wooo hoo

Two possible solutions:

1 run a super heavy magic list which means picking up either a truthsayer or dark emmisary - lvl 3 and lvl4 magic users respectively (which dont take up a lord slot!) and a lvl2 as support that would provide 7 or 8 power dice and 5 dispel dice - quite a lot but probably not enough vs the demons

2 eschew magic completely and focus on more hard hitting power units and more units overall to get combined charges vs demons

3 bring out asarnil which will possibly be combined with option two for some serious hard hitting
If your army have things to negate ward saves take them.
Lots of shooting to force saves, they can't all be saved.
Static Combat Res, big units that can survive combat without losses (or minimal losses) and flaking the Daemons.

It's a bit hard to Dogs of War to get ward-save negating items/attacks. Quantify of Fire seems to be the way to go vs demons.
I was giving a general answer against Daemons, not just Dogs of War.

Personally I still haven't beaten a Daemon army and I've used Empire, Chaos Dwarfs and Slayers.
Daemons are such a nasty army to face no matter what you bring to the table. In round 1 of the 'Ard Boyz I only faced a single Daemon army with my Dark Elves which had Kairos, a LoC, I think 3 or four Heralds on Disc Chariots and a bunch of Horror blocks. His magic phase was totally sick!

I managed to get a win by killing off Kairos with my reapers and then I got real lucky when I managed to get the charge with my Cold One knights death star on his other LoC and killed it. The Chariots were a bit of a pain but my light units (Dark riders, harpies) managed to redirect them enough to give time for my Dragon and Manticore to deal with them. The Horrors really didn't do much because of their limited spell selection as they were minimum sized units.

Round 2 I faced three Daemon armies and got smoked by every one. I thought it funny that out of 20 people playing in round 2 the field contained 13 Daemon armies, 4 VC, 2 DE and 1 Beasts of Chaos. Daemons took the top three spots.
