Hoho! Looks like we have a new me ambition-wise
Are you planning of making a whole army book for each and every one of them, or just a small WD-ish pdf list? The latter would probably be better, as I can't see all of these armies having that much of a background by themselves (or maybe you have more ideas then me

)
That said, best of luck, although I have some doubt that you won't get that many books out without tiring (basing it on the average life-spam of a fan-made army list is 3 weeks before it goes cold). But the ambition sure is there, I hope you keep it up long after I'm gone (meaning I'm only planning on writing 3 more books myself).
The following will be a sort of WD Present's PDF:
Gnoblar Hordes
Vampires of the East
Zoats
Ogres of Chaos
High Elves of the Colonies
The Lopla
Daemons of the South
The Dominion of the Hobgoblins
The rest will be separate books

!
How many pages are you expecting to make them? Because without any source material writing a book takes really long. Well, Albion took me 1,5 weeks, but I did have source material and a finished template from the start.
I'm thinking that about 60 pages a book is what it'll work out as but some books such as Warhammer Armies - Dawi Zharr could be like the Space Marine Book with 100+ pages

! But any way, where do you get your source material, templates and front covers/illustrations from?
A lot of different places, before I start a book I do a lot of research looking for material all over the internet. To Araby for instance, I used parts of some D&D fluff from the 80's, which I then rewrote, some fluff from Pathfinder RPG, and the araby warmaster fluff, and Saracens from hell dorado, as well as mordheim.
Kislev was easier, used background from realm of the ice queen, the GW pdf from 2003, and various fan-made lists.
Cathay was a bit trickier because they hardly had any official material. There I used some material from old fan-made army list, and wrote a lot myself.
Nippon was too easy; just used background from L5R
Albion had a good source too, not much fan-made material, but got a few pages from the Dark Shadows campaign and a lot of material from Celtos.
Norse was a lot of fun too research, was really surprised how much material there was about them. Kalevalahammer and Citadel Journal are my best sources here.
So, that would be my sources, also stated on the reference page of each book. I just hope that you do try to think up a few ideas of your own and not just use exactly the same material as other army lists have, though it's perfectly fine to borrow what you need from other lists as long as credit is given where it's due.
Just realised I didn't comment on art and templates
Artwork is mostly deviantart, but also from regular google searches, various books, concept art from games and stuff like that. Templates I did in word (noobish, really), so now it's really simple just copy pasting from book to book. I mean, Araby took 6 months, Kislev 2, Cathay 1, Nippon 3 weeks and Albion 1.5. Norse I got halfway done on one day

I love your ambition! Im paticularly looking forward to Fimir, Marienburg and the Norse of Skellig (Lustria).
I have drafts of Halflings, Sartosan and Amazons lists that I could type up in a week or so if you wanted to use any ideas or run any joint projects on those. I also have rough updates for the Clan Moulder army list and I've begun work on a Dark Elf Slaneeshii Pleasure Cult army. (Don't I have friends and a girlfriend anymore? Why am I making all these army lists?). If you need anything, just yell!
Oh, and M4cR1II3n, thank you for answering my unasked question!

Sorry M4c but how do you make and apply a custom template in word - It's just I could really do with knowing how to so I can really get cracking and start to rewrite Albion. Oh and by the way, please can I use some of your fluff and pictures in my books - I'll credit you if your okay with it.

Thanks LordGeneral - it would really helped if you typed those up for me - I have no idea where to start on the Halflings especially. If you wanted we can make Warhammer Armies: The Moot a joint project as I have no idea's other than the Hotpot Thrower (of course

) - PM me if you want but don't worry if not but the type up's would be much appreciated

.
I'm going to be starting Estalia, Araby and Fimir soon but I'm thinking about basing the Fimir a lot on the Gungans from Star Wars - what does everyone think?

- You don't exactly make a template in word, it's more of just copy pasting earlier stuff from other books. I would suggest you use a desktop publishing program unless you are proficient with word. Tips you can find here:

But sure, you can use fluff and pics if you want, just don't make an exact copy of my book

My Moot Folk are at your disposal. I'll begin typing it up now! I'll PM you when what I've got is done- I warn you, its a bit crazy at times!
EDIT: Gungans! Yeah!
I'll definitely be going ahead with the Gungan idea in that case - as long as 2 people like it (me and LordGeneral) I'm happy with the idea.
Gungans could be fun, although real Fimir are cyclops that rape people...

Well yes but, I think this Gungan idea is quite nice and will work unlike the real Fimir = Sea Cyclops (however sea cyclops are in the list

)
Sorry Verezzo, you can't use images or fluff from Albion, I'm forced to remove all parts that contain material from Celtos.
Hardly surprised though, it does contain more copyright breaches than you can shake a stick at
Edit: actually, go ahead. I do love to share, the more the merrier (that is, I've moved my book to another site

)
Thanks M4c; luckily, I have some of the most idea's on Albion so I shouldn't need that much from your book. I was wondering, where do you get your cover art work in particular because no matter what I search, there is nothing on deviantart or google like the illustrations you use (and even GW use) for the covers. Oh and finally, how do you get the Warhammer logo with no white background and the border used on Army Books. Thanks and sorry to keep nagging (

),
Verezzo.
Oh and how are you getting on LordGeneral?
Well, for covers I just use the best picture I can find relating to the subject I am writing about. I just go ape-sh*t google-crazy and try all combinations possible to the subject
It all depends on what you are after, for Fimir it might be hard to find something good, but I recommend googling for things like "Cyclops" or similar. The Borde I've got from an old warhammer project I found online, feel free to copy it from my books. Warhammer logo you need photoshop to get properly done, or you can try finding one that already has a png background, still requires you to have photoshop to make it look really good though. Paint.net is a free program though, and should help you quite a bit on your way, not sure how good it would work for covers though.
If you want, I can do the covers for you, just send me the picture you want to use. Given that I already have a finished template to go with it, making a cover takes less than 30 sec for me nowadays

For Marienburg, what about the idea of Napoleonic France?
Eh, I'd say no, it's just too far ahead. Rather make it a variant of the Empire list, with some Dogs of War units. But Marienburg as a whole does not its own army list, other than a possible "variant" army list like the 6th ed books had.
Yes, I agree now I think about it (plus I have a better idea

).
Well, call me once you start working over the Hobgoblin Khanate and Spaarta!!
I actually play 25mm Greeks in WAB. Would be cool to field them in Fantasy!
THIS IS SPAARTAAAAAAAA! (sorry, couldn't control myself!)
Well I have decided I am doing the books in groups (or phases) of 4 so phase 1 is Albion, Dawi Zharr, Gunga, Nippon. Then, the already slightly thought about and planned phase 2 - Marienburg, Kingdoms of Ind, The Moot and (wait, wait for it...) SPAARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
@ The Besieger - Well as you all now know Sparta is going to be in phase 2 however I have a feeling the Hobgoblins shall be phase 3...
Verezzo
If pHase three will be commencing after say august 13th, I will have been able to return from the southlands and finish sartosa if that influences you at all.
P.S. How many army books? That is madness!
No, this is SPAAARRRTTTAAAAAA!!!!!
Oh of course it will be after then - I'm not Super Human

!!!
How are you progressing with the writing? When can we expect the first release? And what will be the first book?
